Event Overview
As the United States advances its AI Action Plan, a central theme is how open source and open-weight AI models can accelerate innovation, foster competition, and expand access while still ensuring security, accountability, and long-term sustainability. Yet the debate is not binary: successful innovation requires a spectrum of approaches, from fully open to strategically closed systems. This educational program brings together expert speakers to unpack the interplay between openness and protection in AI innovation.
Attendees will explore how different innovation models, whether implemented by startups, research labs, or major tech companies, can be aligned with US policy initiatives, and how different licensing strategies support the goals of the American AI Action Plan.
The content of this program does not meet requirements for continuing legal education (CLE) accreditation. You will not receive CLE credit for participating.
