Training and Workshop

Port Harcourt

Pakiri Hotel, Okwuruola Road, off Stadium Road, Port Harcourt, Nigeria

Event Overview

Program Overview

Course Overview:

This course provides comprehensive training in modern access control systems and crime-prevention technologies used to protect people, property, and critical infrastructure. Participants gain a solid understanding of the principles, tools, and best practices that support effective physical security operations in today’s technology-driven environments.

Through a combination of lecture, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, learners explore the full range of access control components—including card readers, biometric systems, electronic locks, controllers, and credentialing platforms—as well as the integration of surveillance, intrusion detection, and alarm systems. The course also emphasizes crime-prevention strategies such as CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design), threat assessment, and incident response planning.

By the end of the training, participants will be able to evaluate vulnerabilities, select appropriate access control technologies, implement system configurations, and apply crime-prevention methodologies to create safer, more secure facilities.

For Whom:

This course is designed for Security officers and supervisors, Law enforcement personnel, corporate security teams, Facility and property managers, IT and security system technicians. Anyone responsible for planning or managing physical security systems will benefit from this course.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

·         understand the fundamentals of physical access control and authentication methods;

·         identify and compare major access control technologies (card-based, PIN, biometric, mobile, etc.);

·         configure and operate electronic access control hardware and software;

·         integrate access control with video surveillance and intrusion systems;

·         apply CPTED principles to reduce crime opportunities;

·         conduct risk and vulnerability assessments for facilities;

·         interpret and follow industry standards and compliance requirements; and

·         develop access control policies, credentialing procedures, and incident response protocols.
