Event Overview
This program represents the next evolution of traditional lawyer well-being and stress-management CLEs. This program offers attorneys tools to navigate their internal operating state under pressure, recognize predictable patterns of self-sabotage or burnout, and apply evidence-based techniques to regulate performance in real time.
By integrating current data on lawyer mental health, a practical burnout spectrum, and multiple frameworks for identifying internal operating states, participants learn clear frameworks for sustaining high performance without sacrificing competence, judgment, or meaning in their work.
Participants will be able to:
Recognize how stress reveals internal operating states that directly affect legal judgment, advocacy, and professional responsibility including decision-making under deadlines, client pressure, and adversarial environments (5 minutes)
Differentiate emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and cynicism as distinct burnout patterns common in legal practice (15 minutes)
Identify common attorney self-sabotage patterns (e.g., over-control, avoidance, reactivity, perfectionism) (10 minutes)
Apply real-time stress-regulation strategies to maintain competence, clarity, and ethical decision-making during high-stakes moments such as court appearances, negotiations, client interactions, and internal conflict (15 minutes)
Implement practical mental fitness frameworks designed for lawyers to support long-term well-being, consistent performance, and sustainable practice across demanding legal careers (15 minutes)
